TWO YEARS OF GRACE

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving” (Psalm 69:30)

As I look back on my journey these past two years , my heart is filled with deep gratitude to the Divine Master who continues to guide, sustain, and surprise me along the way. These years have been a sacred journey marked by faith, trust and constant learning.

There were moments of joy, gladness and pain. Two of our Sisters have returned to the Creator, Sr. M. Angela and Sr. M. Claire. In their last days, the Lord granted me the grace to be near them in their final days … to know them and to share even a short time of their journey home to God. I often think of them as our angels, praying for us, accompanying us from above, reminding me that this mission we live is truly God’s work, not ours.

Much of this time has also been spent rebuilding – renovating and creating new sacred space. Yet as I look back, I realize that I was not only building structures of stone and wood, but dreaming of rebuilding the inner structure of our life together …. as beloved, faithful disciples of the Master. Each project became a prayer, a sign of hope that something new is being born among us.

Leadership, I have discovered, is not about having everything in order, but about keeping the heart open to God, to the Sisters, and to the movement of grace in ordinary things. It is walking with, rather than ahead of others; listening more than speaking; and finding joy in the slow work of transformation.

Listening to the Sisters to their stories, their struggles, and their hopes has taught me to grow in compassion and kindness. Their sharing continually reminds me that leadership is a sacred exchange, where we are formed just as much as we try to accompany others.

As I enter the third year of my mandate, the end of the term…I only ask for a faithful and listening heart — to continue serving with love, to nurture communion, and to let Christ’s light quietly shape the Province from within. I trust that He who began this good work will bring it to completion, in His time and in His way.

DEO GRATIAS!
