I find myself reflecting on the days spent in this beautiful land, among the warmth of our Sisters and the richness of our mission. My longest visit so far as I stayed for 12 days. It was filled with moments of grace, encounters of faith, and the deep joy of communion.
A special part of my visit was being with Sr. M. Francis during her time of confinement in the hospital and recuperation. The care and attention given to her by the Sisters was a beautiful testimony of our call to be a community especially in moments of fragility. In their own little way, in their quiet acts of service, in the patience and care extended to her, I witnessed the heart of our vocation—to be Christ’s presence to one another.
One of the meaningful aspects of this journey was the opportunity to stay and be with the Sisters in 2 communities, each one a living witness to our PDDM – Pauline vocation. I saw firsthand the dedication of our Sisters in their service to the sick and elderly Priests, their apostolic work and their perseverance in their day to day journey, albeit not all can speak the language. The spirit of communion was tangible in every interaction, even in confronting the challenges…these reminds me of the profound gift we share as Disciples of the Divine Master.
Beyond the community visits and moments of encounter, my time in Taiwan was also a reminder of the universality of our mission. Every conversation, every shared meal, and every moment of prayer deepened my gratitude for the gift of our vocation and my mission as a servant leader.
May the Lord continue to bless our mission in Taiwan, sustaining each Sister in her commitment and filling our hearts with His peace and love.
