During this time of Laudato Si Week (May 16 – 25) I am featuring the beauty of Mapanuepe Lake. It is a Lahar-dammed type lake located in the Province of Zambales. So blessed to have visited this place, though the story behind its not that good since it only developed following the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991. And today May 2021 almost 20 years from the cataclysmic eruption (June 15, 1991) the lake grew to an area of 670 hectares (1,700 acres) and had a stored water volume of 75 x 106 cubic meters (98,000,000 cu yd) before reaching its current state (for more info: http://www.wikipedia.org)
