We were always given a chance to be drawn closer to God and perfect opportunity comes in this time of LENT.
Our Holy Father, Pope Francis said that in this life, we are always in need of conversion and that during this season of Lent the Church invites us to pray for this conversion. He said in order to do this, “we need to have the courage to reject all that leads us astray,” and we must “entrust ourselves to the Lord, to His goodness, and to His project of Love for each one of us.”
Lent is not a time of sorrow but of “a joyful and serious commitment to strip ourselves of selfishness and to renew ourselves according to the grace of our Baptism.” Only God can give us true happiness, Pope Francis said. It is useless for us to waste our time seeking it elsewhere.” We are all invited to listen attentively and to take up this appeal of Christ to be converted and to believe in the Gospel.
There’s still 3 weeks to journey towards Easter ….as Pope Francis said: Now is the ideal time to allow our hearts to beat once more in tune with the vibrant heart of Jesus. The whole of Lenten season is imbued with this conviction, which we could say is echoed by three words offered to us in order to rekindle the heart of the believer: PAUSE, SEE and RETURN.
Deo Gratias!
