10th of SEPTEMBER

On the 10th of September…. Surigao City was celebrating the Feast of San Nicolas De Tolentino, the Patron Saint of the city where I came from and where every home was in festive mood for the celebration.

It was also the eighteenth birthday of our dearest nephew Joshua Martin. The eldest grandson and nephew in the family, my brother’s eldest son.

It was a Sunday, a blessed day for everyone, as every Sunday for us Christians is the Day of the Lord-the weekly memorial of the resurrection of our Lord JESUS Christ, the day for rest and a family day too.

But on this particular Sunday our world change. At exactly 7:10 in the evening, our ever dearest mother, Nanay breaths her last breath….from my sisters arms, to mine and to our father’s arms Nanay bid goodbye, she has returned to the house of our Heavenly Father. Peacefully her breathing just got quieter and quieter. Even in tears my aunties and cousins who surrounded us continually prayed the Prayers for a Happy Death accompanying Nanay in her last moments on earth. We saw and we believed that  Nanay passed away serenely and joyfully now being welcomed by the choirs of angels in heaven.
God loves you Nay…and we all loved you so very very dearly.
To the ever loving, selfless, caring, forgiving, hardworking and generous NANAY,

SALAMAT KARAJAW, NAY!

FOREVER …YOU will always be in our hearts …..

from the rising of the sun to its setting…
