Alleluia! the LORD is Risen. Veramente il Signore e risorto…
Just as everyone loves to see the sun shining brightly on Easter Sunday…
so as the dark clouds loves to stay near the sun. But this did not stop me to go out and be with the people, the pilgrims from different parts of the world who came and gathered at St. Peter’s Square to celebrate. I made sure that I will be attending this celebration of the LORD’S Resurrection presided by the Holy Father Pope Francis since this will be my last EASTER in Rome.
Pope Francis gave an impromptu Homily (which seldom happens) encouraging us all to keep the faith despite the wars, sickness and hatred in the world. ..that in this land of pain, tragedy, with faith in the RISEN CHRIST we have a wisdom in the midst of many calamities. The wisdom to look beyond and say, “look there is no wall; there is a horizon, there is life, there is joy, there is the cross amidst this ambivalence. Look ahead, do not close in on yourself”.
Brother sun shines so brightly after it rained during the offertory. The Easter celebration then….closes with the Holy Father’s apostolic blessing given to the city of Rome and to the entire World…….the URBI et ORBI
